Zack Snyder Announces New Justice League Cut Coming 2021
Here’s how you can watch it.
There was a world wide campaign to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut in 2017, after Justice League fans were disappointed by the cinematic release of Justice League. Actors Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck joined campaign in 2019, and other actors like Jason Mamoa also vocalised their support. The Snyder Cut gave hope that a better version of the film existed, and community pressure has now culminated in Zack’s vision of the film getting a release date.
Snyder announced to fans today on a Man of Steel live online commentary stream (via VERO) that The Snyder Cut would be a reality. Snyder said during the live stream:
“I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realised. Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the SnyderCut movement for making this a reality.”
Robert Greenblatt, chairman at Warner Media Entertainment followed up with a statement:
“Since I got here 14 months ago, the chant to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut has been a daily drumbeat in our offices and inboxes. Well, the fans have asked, and we are thrilled to finally deliver. At the end of the day, it really is all about them and we are beyond excited to be able to release Snyder’s ultimate vision for this film in 2021.”
The film will air on HBO MAX sometime in 2021 according to a Warner Media announcement this morning. Recently there has been confirmation that Foxtel’s new streaming service Binge will be picking up the HBO Max catalogue, making the film available in Australia.
What are your hopes for The Snyder Cut? Will you be picking up Binge to see it?
