HyperX Alloy Origins Details Revealed

It’s that time of year again folks, Computex is underway and it’s time to salivate over some new shiny toys that are just over the horizon.

We previously reviewed the HyperX Alloy FPS gaming keyboard (check it out here), and really liked the feel of the board, however we felt it lacked that wow factor and some essential features. It’s no surprise the all new HyperX Alloy Origins keyboard stood out to us during the Computex unveiling.

From what we can tell it’s safe to say that the Alloy Origins keyboard has taken the rock solid, sturdy build it’s known for in the past and improved on it in just about every way! Here’s the run down on the all new Alloy Origins keyboard….

HyperX have developed their first HyperX red key-switches and are introducing them on the new Alloy Origins keyboard (squeals in delight). Sporting an impressive 1.8mm actuation point, you can rely on shorter travel times than ever before, making them ideal for gamers looking for their best reaction times. The HyperX key-switches are rated for up to 80 million lifetime clicks, to ensure stable game play during fierce battles. I don’t know about you, but that seems like a lot of click’ity clicks to me.

The Alloy Origins is a full-size mechanical gaming keyboard with a space-saving layout to maximise desktop real estate for FPS gameplay – which basically means it’s looks gorgeously minimalistic! The keyboard offers up to three custom lighting profiles that can be saved directly to the on-board memory for on-the-go lighting and macro settings which is a similar feature present in the original HyperX Alloy mechanical gaming keyboard, but this is where things get interesting for the new kid on the block. The Alloy Origins ups the ante by featuring dynamic lighting with exposed LED on the keyswitches, providing brighter and more radiant RGB lighting. On top of that Gamers can customize lighting effects and per key RGB control using the latest version of HyperX NGenuity software, designed with an intuitive user-friendly interface.

It’s safe to say we’re keen to get our hands on this bad boy and give you the low down on the latest flagship out of the HyperX camp. After all, it’s new and shiny and we like new shiny things.

The new HyperX Alloy Origins mechanical gaming keyboard will be displayed at the HyperX Computex showroom, and available later this year in selective regions. Check out HyperX homepage for more info.
