CES 2017 Top Picks

With CES 2017 underway prepare to be inundated with all the latest and greatest technology about to hit the market in the coming year. We’ve picked out some of our favourites to help you wade through the mountains of mouth-watering goodies so you don’t miss the good bits!

Razer Project Valerie

Razer revealed a multi-monitor laptop computer concept that sets a new standard for immersive entertainment and multipurpose portable computing. Dubbed “Project Valerie,” the system is the world’s first portable laptop with three built-in monitors. Each 17.3-inch 4K IGZO display is equipped with NVIDIA G-SYNC™ technology that is capable of producing the smoothest possible framerates and expansive 180 degree NVIDIA Surround View gaming. Creative professionals can look forward to 100 percent Adobe RGB colour accuracy and the greatest amount of screen real estate ever assembled in a single computer.
Similar to Razer’s newest systems, Project Valerie equipped with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 exceeds the minimum hardware requirements of HTC Vive™ and Oculus Rift, making it one of the most immersive, mobile VR-ready devices for enthusiasts and developers.

Razer Project Ariana

Razer Chroma, Razer’s flagship lighting technology, will be now available to 3rd party partners along with a glimpse into the future of Razer Chroma with “Project Ariana,” the world’s first video projection system designed for total immersion gaming.
Project Ariana is a high-definition video projector that uses an ultra-wide fish eye lens and advanced processing capabilities to extend the gaming experience into an entire room. The system adapts the projection of in-game elements to the dimensions and features of the physical environment. A pair of 3D depth sensing cameras together with proprietary calibration software automatically calibrates itself to detect environmental factors such as furniture and room lighting, to provide the perfect display for any room.

HyperX Cloud Revolver S

HyperX are announcing its most advanced gaming headset to date, the HyperX Cloud RevolverTM S with plug-and-play Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound. HyperX has added Dolby Headphone technology into a new USB dongle that delivers high-end immersive audio at the touch of a button. HyperX Signature Memory Foam and a new wide headband design enhance comfort for endless hours of gameplay. The new premium headset also features multi-platform support, 50mm drivers and a noise cancelling microphone designed for use by professional gamers and eSports teams globally.
With Dolby Headphone sound realism coupled with the same DNA inherent in HyperX award-winning Cloud Revolver headsets, Cloud Revolver S is designed for comfort and competitive performance with crisp sound and wide soundstage for FPS and 3D environment games. The Dolby Headphone 7.1 channel personal surround sound environment provides an immersive gaming experience – emulating cinema-like audio that puts gamers right in the middle of the action for gameplay advantage.
The Cloud Revolver S is set to be available in mid February 2017.

HyperX Predator DDR4 LED Memory

HyperX will debut its first DDR4 Modules with RGB lighting capabilities. HyperX Predator DDR4 LED memory includes RGB lighting that can be paired with motherboards that have RGB control technologies such as Asus Aura Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion or MSI Mystic Light Sync.

ROCCAT Owl-Eye, Force FX and Lag Free Wireless Mice

Owl-Eye is the exciting new 3361 series optical sensor from Pixart which has been modified to the high and exacting standards of ROCCAT. Its feeling is what makes Owl-Eye so special. It translates mouse movements on screen with 1:1 accuracy. The sensor provides a level of control so natural and innate that it totally bridges the gap between user and game. Owl-Eye is available in three mice including the Leadr (world’s first wireless gaming mouse that delivers the performance of a wired device); the Kone EMP and the Kone Pure.

With their patented Force FX technology, ROCCAT have re-imagined keyboard input to provide a whole new level of control. By employing a special chemical layer which modifies electrical conductivity beneath the QWEASD keyzone, ROCCAT have found a way to allow pressure-sensitive input on a rubberdome keyboard. They have implemented this technology in the Isku+ Force FX, which is the successor of the highly acclaimed and best-selling Isku FX – without raising the competitive price-point.
